I was watching a game of contact team sport on the TV tonight. I noted one of the players with his knee heavlity bandaged, and the commentator stating he had come into the game with that knee injured. He was walking with a limp. Unless the bandages were too tight and altering his gait, he was favoring this leg. Which meant he was putting more than 50% of his weight on his other leg.
I cringed at the thought of what might happen.
Guess what - about 30 minutes later, assisted off with a damaged 'good' knee....tragic.
Remember - if you load the joint when it is doing more than 50% of the word, due to say an injury to the other limb - you are heading towards an injury on your 'good' side. Soon you will not know which is your good side....
Ian,
Good to see you blogging.
I just wanted to mention that your strength training programs have literally changed my life. I've done the entire "Book of Muscle" and the Intermediate and Advanced workouts two times each. My body and my mind are now like one.
Your methods are time-tested and true. Thanks for sharing the knowledge that helped me make "me" the best I can be.
Cheers!
Judah
